Education Platform closure FAQs We want to take this opportunity to thank all of the institutions and teachers who have used the Education Platform over recent years. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Development Manager for Schools, James Massey at james.massey@cla.co.uk. Why has the Education Platform closed? CLA ran the Education Platform (EP) with the support of publishers as a pilot over the COVID-19 years, ensuring teachers and students could still access quality published content whilst teaching remotely.  We were encouraged by the initial interest and use of the service, and are pleased we were able to provide support during such an uncertain time. However, post-pandemic usage has fallen short of the level required to sustain the Education Platform, therefore in agreement with the Department for Education, we have decided to discontinue the service. What does this mean for schools and Further Education Colleges? The Education Platform will no longer be available to make digital copies for sharing with students. Will the Education Platform be replaced? We are working on new opportunities for the UK schools’ and colleges sector and will be sharing updates as soon as we can. For now, you can browse our teaching resources or sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with the latest from CLA. What does this mean for reporting at my school? Under the terms of your licence, CLA may ask you to participate in a Data Collection Exercise, helping us capture the content and resources you use, in order to remunerate the authors, publishers and visual artists that created that content.  Now that the Education Platform has been discontinued, there will not be a requirement for you to actively report the content you use, unless you are selected to participate in a Data Collection Exercise. In this circumstance, CLA will contact your school and support you through the process, which typically occurs once every five to ten years. Useful links Is your school covered?
