What is it?

Our APIs (Application Program Interfaces) are tools that enable your software to communicate with ours, to integrate services such as Check Permissions into your own services.

Who is it for?

  • Third party suppliers of technology for content users
  • Customers with the IT resources to implement APIs

Check Permissions API

This interface gives third parties the ability to integrate, search and discover metadata that describes what can be copied, shared or reused under our licences. This service verifies permissions for CLA licences and also checks against NLA media access education licences.

DCS course content API

This API enables third-party Reading List platforms used by UK Higher Education institutions to integrate and retrieve links to content that have been generated in the Digital Content Store (DCS) for a particular course of study. The API will integrate data and automatically update links so users don’t have to make any manual changes.

Both API services are currently provided free of charge but we reserve the right to charge in the future.

If you would like to find out more about using our APIs please email us at api@cla.co.uk
