10.30 – 11.00: Liz Hardie, Open University Topic: How to Ensure Robust Assessment in the Light of Generative AI Developments Join Liz Hardie, Director of SCiLAB at the Open University, for a session discussing large-scale research on the impact of Generative AI (GAI) on assessment. This study, funded by NCFE, identifies which assessment types are most vulnerable to Gen AI and evaluates a training programme to help educators recognise AI-generated content. Liz will share insights from the research, including recommendations for making assessments more robust in the face of AI advancements.
11.00 – 11.30: Kellie Mote & John Kelly, Jisc Topic: Accessibility: New Considerations for Complex Times Kellie Mote and John Kelly from Jisc explore the evolving landscape of digital accessibility. With new developments such as the European Accessibility Act and the increasing role of Gen AI, this session will cover the latest trends and provide guidance on how to engage with accessibility initiatives in higher education. Find out what’s next and how to navigate this complex yet exciting field.
12.45 – 13.00: Sarah Brear, CLA Topic: Collaborating with colleagues outside your institution In this session, Sarah Brear will take a look at the pre-existing arrangements for collaboration under the CLA HE licence and those introduced in August 2024, plus how other CLA licences held by a collaborating organization can also impact. This session will will introduce our next speaker.
13:00 – 13:15: Richard Pemberton, NHS Topic: Licence Provisions for Collaborative Work Richard Pemberton, Strategic Manager at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, delves into the intricacies of licensing and copyright considerations for collaborative work within the NHS. This session will provide valuable insights on managing copyright issues in the healthcare and academic sectors.
13.15 – 13.45: Imogen Wyllie, CLA Topic: DCS – CLA In this session, Imogen will look at DCS activity over 2024, and share significant development plans for 2025.
