CLA CILIP Bursary Prize Draw Terms and Conditions This Prize Draw is operated by The Copyright Licensing Agency Ltd (“CLA”) with a registered address at c/o Berg Kaprow Lewis LLP, 35 Ballards Lane, London N3 1XW Eligibility The CLA CILIP Bursary Prize Draw (“Prize Draw”) is open to students and / or employees of CLA licensed organisations who meet the following criteria: Study or work in the following sectors: Schools or Further Education Higher Education Public Sector Private Sector And fulfil at least one of the following categories: A student New to the profession (up to five years professional experience) Earning below £23,000 per annum; or Unwaged Entrants to the Prize Draw must be 18 years or older and a resident of the UK. How to Enter All entries must be submitted via the entry form on cla.co.uk and only one entry per person is permitted. The closing date of the Prize Draw is 11:59pm on Friday 31 May 2024. CLA accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind. Prize Four (4) prize winners will be awarded a CLA Bursary to attend the CILIP Conference 2024. The CLA Bursary is the conference ticket only and any additional expenses such as travel, accommodation and/or sustenance are not included and shall not be covered by CLA. Selection and Notification Process The four prize winners will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on 05/06/24. The winners of the prize draw will be notified by email (using details provided at entry) before Friday 7 June 2024. If a winner does not respond to CLA within 7 number of days of being notified by CLA, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and CLA will be entitled to select another prize winner in accordance with the process described above. On confirmation of acceptance of the CLA Bursary, CLA shall pay the cost of the ticket for the CILIP Conference 2024 to CILIP and the prize winners shall be required to register directly with CILIP to attend the conference. Full details shall be provided to the prize winners on confirmation that the CLA Bursary is accepted. The CLA Bursary prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered. Prize Winner Obligations Prize winners shall produce either a written report of up to 800 words OR a video of up to two (2) minutes, outlining their conference experience. By entering the Prize Draw and submitting a report, prize winners give their authorisation and permission for CLA and CILIP to edit and publish the report across their respective media platforms, in both print and online. Deadline for the submission of the report is Friday 16 August 2024. Bursary recipients agree to, where reasonably practicable, actively share their conference experiences via X (formerly Twitter) and / or LinkedIn during the Conference. Other Conditions The decision of CLA regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry, CLA reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions. CLA reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, to hold void, cancel, suspend or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so. Insofar as is permitted by law, CLA will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winners or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize or attending the CILIP Conference 2024 except where it is caused by the negligence of CLA or that of its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected. If any entrants to the Prize Draw wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
