What is it? Our APIs (Application Program Interface) are code that you can install so that our software can communicate with yours to integrate our services.
Who is it for? Third party suppliers of technology for content users
DCS Course Content API
This API enables third party Reading List platforms used by UK Higher Education institutions to integrate and retrieve links to content that have been generated in the Digital Content Store (DCS) for a particular course of study. The API will integrate data and automatically update links so users don't have to make any manual changes.
Check Permissions API
This interface gives third parties the ability to integrate, search and discover content that can be copied, shared or reused with the licences we sell. This service verifies permissions for CLA licences and now also checks against NLA media access education licences and the Schools Printed Music Licence.
Both API services are currently provided free of charge but we reserve the right to charge in future.
If you would like to find out more about using an API please email us at api@cla.co.uk
