- Announcement of Tony Johnson as Chief Technology Officer boosts leadership team
The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA), the UK collective licensing expert has moved to consolidate its digital transformation and product development initiatives into a dynamic technology and data strategy.
Through close collaboration with customers, rightsholders and technology partners, CLA has successfully developed a range of innovative digital products, such as the Education Platform which is used in 17% of UK schools and the Digital Content Store used by more than 60% of UK FTE university students.
In the final stages of a major back-office transformation programme and corporate-wide workflow implementation, CLA is placing technology, data and insight at the centre of everything it does.
CLA is now delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Johnson as its first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide the technology leadership to deliver success.
Johnson combines strong board-level career experience in senior IT and digital transformation roles, with a track record in implementing technology-enabled solutions to national and global businesses. In his role as Senior Vice-President International IT at 20th Century Fox, he headed-up the entire technology team across EMEA, APAC and LATAM supporting a multi-$billion global business.
Mat Pfleger, CLA CEO welcoming the appointment, commented:
Tony Johnson is bringing an impressive depth of experience to CLA’s senior leadership team in this strategically important CTO role. So far digital transformation has given us the framework and flexibility for change and Tony’s expertise can help us consolidate the resources, skills and staff to take CLA forward into a technology and data-led future.”
Tony Johnson added:
I am truly delighted to be joining CLA. The strategy and vision that Mat and the Leadership Team have set in motion make it a genuinely exciting time to be joining the organisation. I look forward to continuing the great work already in flight and creating a consolidated Technology Group that is pivotal to the future success of CLA.”
