Introducing the CLA Link API for MMO and MI clients July 16, 2025 By Taylor Macdonald Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) is thrilled to announce the launch of a new CLA Link API service, designed to enhance how MMO and Media Intelligence (MI) clients access and integrate our title and website repertoire lists. This move comes in response to the invaluable feedback from our clients, who have expressed a need for a more efficient, automated solution to integrate up-to-date content data into their systems. We’ve recognised that a manual approach for MMO SAAS platforms isn’t enough anymore. It’s time for a technical integration solution that saves time, reduces errors, and ensures that content data is always current and accurate. Why we developed the CLA Link API As Bob Johns, our MMO and TDM Account Manager, puts it: “CLA’s MMO and Media intelligence clients are key partners in ensuring our publishers and stakeholder’s intellectual property rights are both respected and fairly remunerated for content copied in their services to our mutual customers. We have therefore responded to the sector’s needs by improving access to our large title list of publications and websites via an API service. This takes a historically manual and time consuming process and automates it, helping to ensure MMOs have an up-to-date, accurate set of data integrated into their own in-house systems at all times.“ The CLA Link API was developed to elevate the efficiency and ease of accessing and integrating CLA content. We understand that your clients need to have the most current information available, and we want to help make that process as seamless as possible. How the CLA Link API works The CLA Link API allows the user to easily access CLA repertoire lists and integrate them directly into organisation platforms. We’ve built in a number of useful features: Full repertoire download: The user can download the entire list of CLA titles and websites. Delta call: This feature lets the user capture the changes in the repertoire from one point in time to another, helping the user track what’s been added or removed. Specific record retrieval: The user can also retrieve a specific record from our repertoire list when needed. The data can be output in a variety of formats, including CSV, JSON, and XML, so it can easily be integrated into a wide range of systems. Who can use the CLA Link API? While the CLA Link API is designed primarily for Media Monitoring and Intelligence companies, it’s available to any CLA licensee with a legitimate use case. If you’re interested in using the MMO API, please reach out to Bob Johns, MMO and TDM Account Manager, at bob.johns@cla.co.uk to get started. Looking ahead The CLA Link API is a big step forward for CLA. This automation and integration are key to improving efficiency and ensuring that the user always works with the most up-to-date data. CLA is committed to supporting and helping meet the needs of its customers in the most efficient way possible. With the CLA Link API, CLA is excited to continue improving how content data is delivered and looking forward to helping organisations integrate it seamlessly into their systems.
