CLA have been NLA’s agent in the Education sector since 2013. This is to streamline your licensing, so that you have once point of contact, and can use our site as one source of advice. The NLA Licence still sits with NLA Media Access however, and the Ts & Cs and prices are set by NLA.
It’s basically what they cover. The CLA licence gives permissions to copy from books and journals, while the NLA licence gives permissions to copy from newspapers. Both licences cover magazines, but just check the title in our Check Permissions tool to see which licence it’s covered by.
